Week 45 UK Chapbook Chart 2017 – Astra Papachristodoulou

Almost a Nightmare is a musing on the Fire of London but also explores the way that music can invade the imagination, and the body. A spine of moonlight moves through London like the Thames, and scorched manuscript marks the edges of Beethoven’s
sonata.

Astra Papachristodoulou is a poet and artist. Her written work has appeared in small magazines and anthologies such as The Tangerine, Stride Magazine and Streetcake. Astra has recently won the Pebeo Mixed Media Art Prize, and her paintings have been showcased at contemporary art exhibitions at the A&D Gallery in London. She is a recent graduate from the MA Creative Writing (Poetic Practice) at Royal Holloway with focus in experimental writing and the neo-futurist tradition across poetry, visual art and performance. She is a co-founder of the artist association group ProArtè.
